Having many critics debate over how Christian or non-Christian the Harry Potter saga can be, the other side of things is explored as well. Some critics say that the novels contain no hints of having any religious content at all. When it comes to "Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry", holidays are celebrated, but for inappropriate reasons. Holidays like Christmas and Easter are holidays of the Christian faith which serve of importance when it comes to Jesus Christ. However, in both the motion pictures as well as the novels, J.K Rowling shows the characters being concerned about gifts and eating rather than the true meaning behind the holidays. To some critics, this suggests that these holidays are non-religious as well as non-Christian. When looking at this more closely however, readers can almost see why. While doing research, I came across my own opinion on this matter. If J.K Rowling were to produce these holidays as "Christian holidays", controversy would settle in claiming how wizards and witches  should not be of Christian faith since they perform magic, forbidden by the faith. On the other hand, only focusing on Christianity and neglecting other religions can give some sort of anti-semantic issues amongst others. For this reason, it is no wonder J.K Rowling does not focus on any specific religion for the holidays in order to avoid critics claiming more nonsense about her.

There are many more conclusions which people can come to. It is up to readers to develop their own and create an opinion based on what they believe in. Regardless of what critics say, the novels create a safe and intriguing atmosphere for children and encourage them to read, no matter what way you look at it.  The happiness children receive from these books is what should matter, not about the holidays or how religious or anti-religious characters are. Having the opinion that the book contains no religion at all, is a great opinion to have on many different levels.
